Cause

Cursor's extension host process stops responding - often after an update or on resource-constrained machines - preventing the Agent from invoking tools.

Fix

Run 'Developer: Restart Extension Host' from the Command Palette. If that fails, quit and relaunch Cursor. Run 'cursor --disable-extensions' to isolate a crashing third-party extension. If still broken, reinstall from cursor.com/downloads (partial-update corruption).
