Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft's cloud identity provider (formerly Azure AD) — the directory behind Microsoft 365 and Azure SSO.
Definition
Microsoft Entra ID is the rebranded Azure Active Directory: a multi-tenant identity provider issuing OIDC and SAML tokens. It is the default identity layer for Microsoft 365, Azure, and the dominant enterprise SSO provider. Conditional Access policies enforce MFA, device compliance, and network constraints on sign-in. Most enterprise SaaS integrates with Entra for SSO.
